On the reverse of the coin, in the center, the liberator José de San Martín is seen in the foreground with his arm raised along with other main characters, and a close-up of the crowd gathered for the ceremony in the Plaza Mayor of Lima .
In the upper part the text reads: 1821 - BICENTENARIO - 2021, and in the lower part of the coin the phrase PROCLAMATION OF INDEPENDENCE is shown.
